This week has been a busy one for Canadian High School Rodeo Contestants as the Canadian High School Finals started on Thursday, August 4th in Virden, MB.  This is the 2nd year that the Canadians have been held in Virden, MB and also the 2nd year that the Junior High School Division has been a part of Canadians.  Canadians will go until Saturday the 6th.

In the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA) contestants will travel to Grimshaw and LaCrete, AB for rodeos.  Grimshaw starts August 6th and will end on the 7th.  LaCrete’s pro rodeo will start on Monday, August 8th and will go until Tuesday the 9th.

In the Canadian Cowboys Association (CCA) there are two rodeos taking place this weekend.  Contestants will head to Weyburn and Kyle, SK.  Weyburn rodeo is dual approved with the Manitoba Rodeo Cowboys Association (MRCA) while Kyle is approved with the Chinook Rodeo Association (CRA).  Both of these rodeos are taking place August 6th and 7th.

Contestants with their Wildrose Rodeo Association  (WRA) cards will travel to Valleyview and Barrhead, AB this weekend.  Valleyview rodeo is dual approved with the Lakeland Rodeo Association (LRA).  LRA contestants will also travel to Buffalo Lake this weekend to rodeo.

Be sure to stay tuned to each of the associations websites for draws and results.

Please have someone contact me about the rodeo that was held on August 6/11 that

was stopped because of weather. I feel I should get our money back as we were only

there for less that 25 minutes including 10 minutes that we were under the grand stand

because it was raining so hard. It costs us $26.00 – 2 adults and our 2 grandchildren.

You would have to contact someone from the committee as we actually have no control over this kind of stuff, we just report about these upcoming events.
