The 2011 Calgary Stampede will wrap up this weekend on Sunday, July 17th with the Showdown Sunday. Contestants making it to Showdown Sunday will get their chance at competing for $100,000 and the Calgary Stampede Championship. There are three pro rodeos taking place for the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA). The rodeos taking place are in Taber, Teepee Creek and Peace River, AB. You can check out their website here for draws, and results when they become available.
In the Canadian Cowboys Association (CCA) contestants will be traveling to Manitoba for two rodeos that are dual approved with the Manitoba Rodeo Cowboys Association (MRCA). Contestants will travel to Gilbert Plains and Selkirk to try and make some money.
The Wildrose Rodeo Association (WRA) and Lakeland Rodeo Association (LRA) have a rodeo dual approved in Boyle, AB this weekend taking place July 15-17th. The WRA also has a rodeo in Whitecourt, AB this weekend.
There is also a barrel racing futurity taking place this weekend on July 15-16th in Brooks, AB. You can go the Canadian Barrel Futurities Website here for the daily schedules.
Lastly, high school rodeo contestants who have qualified for the National Finals will be making their way to Gillette, Wyoming. The first performance will take place this Sunday, July 17th in the evening. You can go to the NHSRA Official Website here to check on the draws and results.
