We are 9 rounds down with 1 to go. In last nights action we saw several come closer to that gold buckle and a few others loose their grip on it.
The biggest upset was watching Sarah Rose McDonald tip a barrel, but this opened a window for Lisa Lockhart to move up in the average again and gain a bit of lost ground. Callie duPerier is in the drivers seat however, going into the final round.
While the Canadian Bareback riders didn’t make the pay window, they both had sold rides. Clint Laye rode for 77.5 and Orin Larson an awesome 80, when 80.5 was last hole and 82 was the win. I must have missed something with Clint’s ride as it looked to be a better score than posted.
Taner Milan remains in great shape in the average sitting third and split 6th in round 9 steer wrestling with a 4.3
Our Saddle Bronc riders also posted scores with Tyrel Larson placing 4th with a 79.5 point ride and Zeke Thurston, who holds fifth in the average rode for 76 points (which would have split 7th).
In the Tie Down roping TJ the calf horse runs for Shane Hanchey and while TJ did great work, Shane had a bit of trouble and posted an 8.2. They sit 8th in the average race.
Deb Guelly had a very solid run on Bud Light but didn’t clock running on the bottom of the ground. Look for a fast run in round 10 from these two.

According to my calculations, Lisa would need to win the round and Callie not place (while average stays the same) in order for Lisa to take the championship. She needs to make $24,712 and Callie make none. Should someone in the average above Lisa tip a barrel, that would move Lisa up in the average and allow her to place second and potentially still make enough if Callie doesn’t place. Callie would need to tip and Lisa not place, for Sarah Rose to be able to make enough money to take over the lead.
