Carlee Pierce and her buckskin horse Rare Dillon (Firewater Flit and Rare Bar grandson) made an arena record setting run last night. They completed the cloverleaf pattern in 13.46 seconds. I was lucky enough to be there and watch it in person and it was one of those runs you knew was fast. The girls that ran behind her just looked slow. They weren’t slow, the some still placed but she was just THAT FAST! Lindsay continues to make solid runs and stay in the average.

Unfortunately Steven Peeples broke his leg and tore a ligament in his ankle last night in the Bareback riding. He knew right away as he laid still calling for help. He rode for 4th place on Scarlett’s Web but will be out for the rest of the finals and undergo surgery in the upcoming days.
Lee Graves and his steer wrestling team continue to cash in with the help of Jason Miller and Trevor Knowles. They placed 4th and 3rd respectively and sit 2nd and 6th in the average. Jason has placed in every round, Trevor in all but 1.

Round 5 Highlights
One cowboy to watch is the young Tie Down Roper Corey Solomon. That kid is electric! When you get a chance to watch the rodeo on TV, watch this guys dismount and tie. I’m certain I saw sparks flying in the Thomas and Mack. I talked to him over at the MGM Grand after the rodeo and he seems like a really down to earth kid with a strong future ahead of him.
Yesterday was a busy day for us in Vegas, I feel like we packed two days into one. We started off with a breakfast buffet, then Murray went with some friends to the South Point to watch some Word Series Roping. I went with another friend to the Mandalay Bay trade show. There were lots of goodies there and I even said hello to one of our advertisers Libi Susag with Oxy-Gen
After a long day of shopping I took my crippled self back to the “office” checked in on Rodeoclassifieds and headed back out to the Rodeo. We took the free shuttle from the MGM Grand to the Thomas and Mack. Our bus driver Shayla was absolutely hilarious. Pretty sure she was working towards being a stand up comedian when she was sick of being a bus driver. We bought tickets when we got there, I was a little nervous with the shady character we bought tickets from but they got us in the door. We were high and dry in the building and we definitely got a panoramic view of the building. After the rodeo we jumped on the free shuttle back to the MGM Grand for the after party. We ate at Diago’s Mexican Grill (recommend), I lost a $1.82 on the slots and bought a $10 drill to drown my sorrows. Today we are headed out the door to either the LV Convention Centre or the Sands Convention Centre to Cowboy shop for the day. Tonight we will watch the live feed of the rodeo from a bar or theater somewhere. One thing I’ve learned here so far is that a person doesn’t have to worry about what they should wear….anything goes. Stay tuned for pictures!
