Round 2 at the 2011 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo is in the books. Its a new day and both those in the money or not have the round behind them and look to round 3 Saturday night.
Check out this grand entry….wouldn’t that get you pumped!?
Friday night our Canadian cowgirl was 7th. Martha and Lindsay Sears were a little high and by their first which cost them some time. They regrouped and had an amazing first and second barrel to finish the run with a 14.21.
Lisa Lockhart kept the barrels standing tonight and won the round with a 13.95. One upset of the night was a tip by Brittany Pozzi who would have won her second round with a 13.71. That palomino hose Duke is on fire! Sherry Cervi had a really fast time considering the extra steps she took getting past first a bit. Watch for a round win from them when they nail the first…Stingray is RUNning hard! Both Northern cowgirls Jane and Britany had some tough luck with barrel tonight. Angie Meadors kept them up tonight to take second place with a 14.00.

In the Steer Wrestling, hazer and horse pimp Lee Graves was in the money again. Trevor Knowles won his back to back round riding Lee’s great horse Jesse (someone tell me if I should be spelling it Jessie). Trevor was 3.3 seconds. Lee’s other money maker Jason Miller was also in the money splitting 4/5 with a time of 3.9.
Knowles wasn’t the only one making a repeat trip to the buckle presentation, Cody Ohl won the Tie Down Roping again. In 7.1 seconds, the 38 year old cowboy showed the youngsters “he’s still got it”. Kaycee Fields also won a back to back round in the Bareback riding. This win put his 40K over Will Lowe and leads the average. Fields rode JK Rodeo’s Molly to 87.5 points.
Eight-time World Champion All-Around Cowboy Trevor Brazile and two-time World Champion Team Roping Heeler Patrick Smith won the team roping with a 4.1-second run
NFR Rookie Bull rider Chandler Bownds rode Robinson ProRodeo’s RMEF Bugle for 91 points for the win and his first NFR cheque. Another first was for Chuck Schmidt riding Bar T Rodeo’s Son of Sadie for 87.5 points and the round win.

Where are we going and why am I talking about this here? WE ARE GOING TO VEGAS BABY!!!! You won’t miss me though….I’ll be blogging from there too! I’m going to bring you my personal take on things straight from Vegas.
