Contestants who have been traveling up and down the rodeo trail all year are realizing that the season is sadly coming to an end. Some associations like the Lakeland Rodeo Association have already had their finals, while others only have a small handful of rodeos left in the season. Below is a breakdown of the rodeos left in each association as well as when the finals are for each.
In the Canadian Cowboys Association (CCA) there are five rodeos left to count towards this years finals. This weekend (September 23-25th) there is only one rodeo happening which is in Beechy, SK. Beechy is also dual approved with the Chinook Rodeo Association (CRA). Contestants will be hoping for fast times and high scores to advance to the short go round which happens on Sunday. Next weekend (September 30-October 1st) there is also only one rodeo – contestants will travel to Kamsack, SK. Contestants will then finish the 2011 season off by traveling to three rodeos in hopes to grab that little bit of extra money towards the standings. Central Butte and Wapella, SK are to hold their rodeos on October 7-8th while St. Rose, MB is hosting their rodeo on October 8-9th. Both Wapella and St. Rose rodeos are dual approved with the Manitoba Rodeo Cowboys Association (MRCA).
