In the first round of the 2014 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo Ponoka’s Jake Vold was the only Canadian cowboy to pick up a cheque. He rode his bareback horse (Miss Dunny) for an 81.5 ride to split 5/6th. Curtis Cassidy had a slow falling steer in the steer wrestling and Dustin Flundra’s horse (Showbiz) didn’t have the trip he needed to score any higher than 73. For round 2, Jake has drawn Empty Pockets and Dustin Special Time.
Here are the round winners in all events from Round 1
In the barrel racing, Fallon Taylor not only won the best dressed award for the night but won the round.
