High School Rodeo Contestants Gear Up for Provincial Finals

by Shayna on June 9, 2011

Another work week is close to an end and everyone’s getting ready for a weekend full of barrel racing and roping.  I’m off to Hamiota, MB tonight for the Manitoba High School Rodeo Association Provincial Finals that start tomorrow.  I’ll be sure to get some pictures captured of this big weekend to share with you all on Monday.  Alberta and BC both have their provincial high school finals this weekend as well (taking place in Ponoka and Williams Lake).

This weekend is also a busy one for any CCA (Canadian Cowboys Association) cardholders.  There are rodeos in Eston, Lancer and Warman, SK.  Eston and Lancer rodeos are also dual approved with the Chinook Rodeo Association.

The Canadian Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA) also has three rodeos taking place this weekend.  Contestants will travel to Brooks, Lea Park and Rocky Mountain House, AB to try and bring home a cheque.

And finally, like every weekend, there are lots of other barrel racing and roping jackpots (that is as long any rain hasn’t gotten in the way!). We look forward to seeing the results next week.

Good luck and remember to stay posted for recaps and pictures next week!
