First Barrel Racing Go Round Buckle Heads to Minnesota

by Michelle on December 4, 2011

Minnesota’s first barrel racing round win was made tonight. The States first ever cowgirl to qualify for the NFR made them proud as Jane Melby and RC Back In Black won the round in 13.83 seconds. “Beauty” as she is called by those close to her is sired by the Saskatchewan stallion Ninety Nine Goldmine and out of a Royal Quick Dash daughter. When you watch the mare run, she’s one you know is FAST. Tonight’s win confirmed that notion.

Lindsay Sears had a solid run placing 6th in the round with a 14.02. She fell 0.01 behind Sherry Cervi in the average who ran a 14.00. Watch for the pair to flip flop all week in the average. Brittany Pozzi maintains her world lead placing second in the third round.

In the steer wrestling Lee Graves continued to cash in while hazing and lending his horse Jesse out to Jason Miller (3rd) and Trevor Knowles (5th).

Kaycee Feild became the second bareback rider in Wrangler National Finals Rodeo history to win each of the first three rounds of the Finals when he marked 90.5 points on Mosbrucker Rodeos’ Magic Wars
