Pool B of the Calgary Stampede will be gearing up for their first performance this afternoon. Contestants will be hoping for good rides and times to make them advance to the Showdown Sunday.
In the saddle bronc riding, there are four Canadians competing in Pool B: Todd Herzog, Kyle Thomson and Luke Butterfield (all from Alberta) and Braken, Saskatchewan’s Rylan Geiger.
In the bareback riding, Albertan cowboys Matt Lait, Dusty LaValley, Reid Rowan, Michael Solberg and Kyle Bowers will be riding in hopes of making the Showdown Sunday.
In the bull riding, the three Canadian riders competing in Pool B are Ty Pozzobon of Merritt, BC; Aaron Roy of Yellow Grass, SK; and Tyler Thomson of Black Diamond, AB.
In the tie-down roping, there will only be one Canadian competing in Pool B and that is Alwin Bouchard of Scandia, AB.
In the steer wrestling, seven of the ten competitors in Pool B are from Canada. The steer wrestlers in Pool B are Curtis Cassidy, Jessie Heggie, JD Hays, Straws Milan, Clayton Moore, Todd Maughan and Cody Cassidy.
In the barrel racing, Canadian’s competing in Pool B are Gaylene Buff of Westwold, BC; Julie Leggett of Trail, BC; Rana Koopmans of Lethbridge, AB; and Sierra Stoney of Calgary, AB.
