The third time was a charm for Curtis Cassidy. He picked up his first cheque in round 3 of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. A time of four flat put him in the money for his first cheque at this years finals. Until now Cassidy had trouble drawing the steer he needed to get the job done.
Watch that run here:
In the roughstock end of the arena Jake Vold kept up his winning ways to ride to a 5/6 split. He currently splits 5th in the average with Kaycee Feild. In the saddle bronc riding our third Canadian to mention at the finals is Dustin Flundra. While a 63 point ride failed to warrant a reride (according to the powers that be), the good news in Flundra is one of only 6 cowboys to ride all 3 horses at this point and sits 6th in the average at this time.
Finals Rookie Kassidy Dennison rode her horse Eagle to the round win in 3. No stranger to success, Dennison is an 8 X Indian World Champion Cowgirl.
Watch Round 3 of the 2014 National Finals Rodeo here:
Sherry Cervi came up short on barrel number two, to put a halt to her 12 run streak of winning a cheque. Here’s a look at the placings to date. Although Fallon Taylor currently leads the world standing, the projected world standings (taking average $ into consideration) show Lisa Lockhart leading the world at this time. It’s a little early to start making predictions but if Lisa stays in the average things look good for her. Lisa is second in the average behind Dennison.
Team Ropers, you’ll be happy to see I’ve located footage of your event! I have also gone back and edited the previous round reviews to include footage of the roping.
