What made you decide to attend the South Country Futurity/Derby?
I had plans this year to try and enter all of the Derbys but my favourite one buy far has always been South Country I’ve always had good luck there and they do such a good job running things and there prizes/money is fantastic!

What is your horse’s registered and barn name?
My horse name is Possible Rockstar aka “Rocket”
-How long have you been running barrels on him and what is his training background?
I bought him as a yearling started and trained him myself and have been running him since his futurity year.
– How would you describe this horse’s running style and what do you like best about Rocket?
He really stands up around his barrels handles bad ground well and truly is the easiest horse I’ve ever run on barrels but to be around him he is quite spooky!
My favorite run of the weekend was in the short round there wasn’t to much to pick apart and he just took care of business!
I do a lot of slow work just walking and trotting the pattern and same goes for our warm up we do a lot of walking . No changes were made over the weekend.
-What kind of saddle, pad and bit do you use?
I use a double J saddle with a impact gel pad and a Dee Butterfield bit by Dave Elliot .
-Are there any specific goals you set for yourself and your horse this season?
Goals for this year is to do well at the Derbys and hit a few rodeos.
-If you were to share a barrel racing tip what would it be?
My barrel racing tip for the young horses would be to do your homework when you get home and slow things down again.
