Curtis Cassidy is $19,000+ richer after the 5th round of the 2014 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. The Alberta cowboy posted a 3.3 second run in the Steer Wrestling for the win and a personal best aboard Dusty Walker’s horse Tank. Jake Vold continued his winning ways by placing 6th in the round and holds 3rd in the average. The third Canadian cowboy to pull a cheque in the 5th round was Dustin Flundra who picked up a 5th place cheque. That was 3 for 3 Canadians in the money!

In the barrel racing, Michele McLeod took her first victory lap at this finals. She finished her run with the fastest time of the finals so far with a 13.66 second run. Only one barrel racer remains with no barrels down and that is Lisa Lockhart who leads the average. Fallon Taylor has been winning and placing high and moved up in the average as Kassidy Dennison tipped her first barrel last night. That moved Taylor ahead of Lockhart in the projected world standings that take the average into consideration.
