Miss Rodeo Canada "re-crowned"
If you see Miss Rodeo Canada, Arleta Bowhay, throughout her travels this summer you may notice something a little different about her. The Miss Rodeo Canada committee decided last winter that it was time to lay the old Miss Rodeo Canada crown to rest and create a brand new headpiece for the First Ladies of Professional Rodeo to wear.

Bowhay was “re-crowned” during the Saturday afternoon performance of the Sundre Professional Rodeo last weekend. She spoke about how it feels to be the very first rodeo queen to wear the brand new crown.
“It’s pretty exciting to be able to be the first one, to kind of have something my year that’s special,” said Arleta, “and to be able to do it at my home town rodeo that was pretty cool.”
Arleta thanks Montana Silversmith’s for eagerly stepping up to the plate to not only design and create the crown, but also for generously donating it at no cost to the committee.
Bowhay says the Miss Rodeo Canada committee is looking into having the old crown archived in the Canadian Professional Rodeo Hall of Fame in Ponoka, Alberta. The crown was worn by queens like Britteny Foster (2010), Jenna Berreth (2008), and Aleaha More (2006).
