Canadian Round Up:
In round 10, Jake Vold put a little more change in his pockets as he split third, three ways and took 4th in the average. His trip to the NFR paid him nearly $75,000. Curtis Cassidy is going home with the money from his two go round wins (almost $44,000) but didn’t add anything to it in round 10. Dustin Flundra was said to miss marking the horse out so he wasn’t scored. He will still enjoy nearly the $30,000 he did win while in Vegas for 10 days.
Barrel Racing:
This time last year, Fallon Taylor went home knowing she had to make some changes. It’s no exaggeration to say Fallon and Babyflo had a wreck of a finals last year creaming several barrels. They went home, regrouped and retrained. I have to say it is pretty impressive to have brought a horse back from where she was at last year, to having only hit 1 barrel in 10 back to back rounds in the same building never mind win the world championship. Theatrics aside, Fallon Taylor rode consistent, appeared to have kept a fun attitude throughout the entire marathon and came out on top of an elite group of ladies. Lisa was just as deserving and I hope her cheque for $143,897.22 from the NFR eases any disappointment.
