6 Down, 4 To Go

Dustin Flundra was the lone Canadian in the money in round 6 with a 6th place ride in the Saddle Bronc.  He tied with Cort Scheer for last hole.  Jake Vold came up a little short with 7th in the bareback, but still has a strong hold on third in the average.  Coming off his win in round 5, Curtis Cassidy caught a barrier tonight in the SW.  We look forward to seeing all these boys in the money again in round 7.

There are 4 rounds left in this marathon they call the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas Nevada!

There was a change in the barrel racing average last night as Lisa Lockhart did what she was trying not to do.   With Lisa and Louie taking down a barrel, this put standings leader Fallon Taylor into the lead in the average and Lisa down to second.  There have been no cowgirls to leave all the barrels up this year at the finals.   Look for Lisa and Louie to come back with vengeance as they will need round wins to catch up to Fallon and Babyflo. Kaley Bass is only $25,602 behind Fallon and is still a contender.

Britany Diaz, aboard her horse Rootie, won the barrel racing with a time of 13.89 seconds, and sits third in the average.
“I am so excited,” said Diaz, who earned her first round win in her second WNFR. “Rootie has been really consistent. It’s been a great ride thus far.”

Here is footage of the NFR Barrel Racing from Round 6.

Team ropers Aaron Tsinigine and Clay O’Brien Cooper won their first check of the WNFR with a run of 4.0 seconds.
